NME “Shockwaves” Viral

Shockwaves sponsored the recent NME awards at Brixton Academy and Love Hate Productions recorded their promo viral for it at MC Motors. My Chemical Romance, Muse and Biffy Clyro were amongst the winners as was the E4 programme Skins (see Introducing the New Cast of Skins post), which won best TV show. Unfortunately Justin Bieber didn’t have a good night picking up Least Stylish and Worst Album awards.

Check the tastefully directed viral below….

Amy Winehouse

Back in February we hosted what proved to be Amy Winehouse’s last promo shoot. It was one of the first photoshoots at our Ruby House location and has easily provided some of the best images we’ve seen so far. While the term “iconic” gets bandied around all too easily in the blogging world these fantastic pictures shot by David Ellis show that never was there a term more apt.

The world will certainly be a quieter place without Amy Winehouse but her husky, soulful voice and powerful personality will, quite rightfully, immortalise her for years to come.

RIP Amy Winehouse 1983-2011

White Lies – Ritual

Here’s the cover for the White Lies new album “Ritual” set at The House Next Door.

Due for release on the 17th January The Fly has been the first to review the album giving it the thumbs up with an awesome 4.5 out of 5.

Drop the Lime – “Hot as Hell”

Here’s a whole chunk of tantalising rockabilly to get your teeth into!

The Depository recently entertained the boys from Love Hate Productions as they brought New York based DJ and producer Drop the Lime over to record the video to his new tune “Hot as Hell”. Recently snapped up by Ministry of Sound Drop the Lime, AKA Luca Venezia, is the man behind Brooklyn’s notorious Trouble and Bass club night. With his influences stretching across the musical spectrum to include genres as diverse as Northern Soul, grime and minimal techno “Hot as Hell” manages to fuse rockabilly and dance together in a way that wouldn’t seem possible.

The catchy tune is currently big in England with the likes of Annie Mac and Zane Lowe while Switch and Diplo have been rinsing it the other side of the pond. Everyone knows what a bit of upbeat country and western can do to a party so we might just see this one take off! Look out for its release in January and check out his official site for European tour dates.

For any East London locals out there see if you can spot any of the Dalston institutions dotted throughout the video!

Pixie Lott – “Broken Arrow”

Hot off the press, here’s the brand new video for Pixie Lott’s new single “Broken Arrow” filmed at our Depository location and produced by our friends at Mercury.

Pixie and her lovely mum Barbara are regular visitors to our locations having done numerous shoots as well as the video to her first ever number one, “Mama Do”, at MC Motors.

While Mama Do was an upbeat track involving an urban dance off, motorbikes and a huge fluffy mattress “Broken Arrow” has a softer beat showing a more mature, love-affected Pixie.

The song definitely shows Ms Lott in a different light and if past experience is anything to go by don’t be surprised to see it topping the charts within the next few weeks!

Pre-order it here and watch the video below….

Graffiti 6 – “Stare into the Sun”

Here’s the colourful new video for Graffit6’s single “Stare into the Sun” shot at our MC Motors location.

Directed by Jimi Crayon we’re loving the funkified dream like stream of conscience.

Look out for our very own Jonny Lewis making a cameo at 1.43!

Nowhere Left to Run

McFly are “vamping” up their image with a new movie filmed at our MC Motors location. Being released within the next few weeks “Nowhere Left to Run” will be a 30 minute viral featuring all sorts of debaucherous activity.

Sex, Blood and Violence are the flavour of the day as Tom, Dan, Dougie and Harry attempt to move away from their squeaky clean image.

Check out the trailer here, you’ll be in for a shock!
